MIND’S ROLE IN HEALTH
A growing number of researches demonstrate that the mind and
body are closely intertwined. Our attitudes, thoughts, beliefs and emotions
play a significant role in our health and well-being. Let us see three interesting researches done
on the subject. But Wright did not want to die. He had heard about an exciting new drug called Krebiozen and he was confident that a new anticancer drug called Krebiozen would cure him. He begged his doctor to let him try it. At first his doctor refused because the drug was only being tried on people with a life expectancy of at least three months. But Wright was adamant. His doctor finally gave in. He gave Wright an injection of Krebiozen on a Friday, but in his heart of hearts he did not expect Wright to last the weekend. Then the doctor went home.
To his surprise, on the following Monday, he found Wright out of bed and walking around. Klopfer reported that his tumors had "melted like snowballs on a hot stove" and were half their original size. This was a far more rapid decrease in size than even the strongest X-ray treatments could have accomplished.
Ten days after Wright's first Krebiozen treatment, he left the hospital and was, as far as his doctors could tell, cancer free. When he had entered the hospital, he had needed an oxygen mask to breathe, but when he left he was well enough to fly his own plane at 12,000 feet with no discomfort.
Wright remained well for about two months, but then articles began to appear asserting that Krebiozen actually had no effect on cancer of the lymph nodes. Wright, who has rigidly logical and scientific in his thinking, became very depressed. He suffered a relapse, and was readmitted to the hospital. This time his physician decided to try an experiment.
He told Wright that Krebiozen was every bit as effective as it had seemed, but that some of the initial supplies of the drug had deteriorated during shipping. He explained, however, that he had a new highly concentrated version of the drug and could treat Wright with this. Of course, the physician did not have a new version of the drug and intended to inject Wright with plain water. To create the proper atmosphere he even went through an elaborate procedure before injecting Wright with the placebo.
Again the results were dramatic. Tumor masses melted, chest fluid vanished, and Wright was quickly back on his feet and feeling great. He remained symptom-free for another two months, but then the American Medical Association announced that a nationwide study of Krebiozen had found the drug worthless in the treatment of cancer. This time Wright's faith was completely altered. His cancer blossomed anew and he died two days later.

Negative Emotions Can Drain Your Powers
Learn Mind’s Secrets – 7 You will achieve all that you desire if you use the techniques explained so far, provided your emotions are positive and in alignment with those desires! Though mind powers can never be exhausted by use, they can be drained or wasted by negative emotions. If you entertain negative emotions continuously they will drain all your powers - both physical and mental.
Your immune system tends to lower its resistance level in the presence of continuous negative emotions and there is a draining of your bodily energy needed to protect you against disorders. Many diseases occur when a lowered immune system allows microbes to develop and proliferate.
Most of the time, our cells are preoccupied with renewal of themselves. About 90% of each cell’s energy is taken up with the vital task of building proteins and creating new DNA and RNA. However when the brain thinks there is a threat this process is set aside so that it can ensure your body has enough energy to propel your muscles to either fight of fly from the scene and get yourself out of danger. In order to do this the anabolic metabolism changes over to catabolic metabolism which, far from rejuvenating your cells, actually breaks them down.
When the body introduces adrenaline into the blood stream it causes a whole set of reactions within the body. For example it causes the blood pressure to rise, muscles to tense, breathing to become shallow, digestion to stop, the skin begins to sweat, while digestion, reproduction and other processes that will not be needed for the moment are turned down, among many other things. Of course as a temporary defense mechanism it is vital but if this condition is not stopped in time the effects on our body can be disastrous
During the experiments with Pavlov's dogs, it was proved that the physiological response of salivation during the anticipation of food could be anchored by an external stimulus like the sound of a bell. An associative neurological circuit was consequently established in the dog's brain that later allowed just the sound of a bell, even though food is not given, to elicit the salivation response. Throughout your life, haphazard anchors get neurologically created whenever your mind and body are strongly involved together and a specific stimulus is repeatedly provided at the peak of a certain state. Afterwards, whenever the stimulus that acts as an anchor is provided, your response is to experience the state once again. If you do what you've always done in the past, you'll continue to get what you've always gotten as a result.
In the present speedy life style, we have created a whole new set of so many things to worry about. Our need to feel in control may be threatened by imposed workloads, tight deadlines, and crowded schedules. We may feel threatened by traffic jams, delayed flights, incompetent staff, unexpected demands and anything else that might cost us time. Our need for self-esteem, recognition and approval can be threatened by the fear of failure, the fear of looking foolish in front of others, fear of criticism and the fear of being rejected. Uncertainty or anything else that makes us feel insecure can likewise be perceived as a threat.
Such threats are unique to humans; we can imagine -and thus worry about – things that no other living thing could possibly conceive of. The trouble is, our biological evolution has not caught up with our mental evolution. Our bodies respond to these psychological threats just as they would to any physical threat. Usually these turn out to be a false alarm, but the body cannot unwind and recover so quickly to a state of ease, as the second it took to jump to alert. The body seldom has time to recover from one alarm before the next one has triggered. Before long our bodies end up in a permanent state of underlying tension. This background tension then feeds back and begins to affect our thinking, emotions and behavior. Our judgment deteriorates, we tend to make more mistakes, we may feel depressed, hostile towards others, act less rationally, and so on. The toll on our bodies manifests in various ways: aches and pains, indigestion, insomnia, high blood pressure, allergies, illness - sometimes leading to premature death.
Moreover, your emotions (how you feel) are quite literally indicators that point to the underlying driving force, or the magnet that attracts the events, conditions, and circumstances that you experience in your life on a day to day basis. The emotions that you choose to experience and the feelings that you feel are the determining factor as to how each and every one of your life events unfold and are brought into physical existence.
The emotions that you experience and the thoughts that drive them, like everything in the Universe are at their core pure energy. Like all energy, both the thoughts that you think and the emotions that you allow yourself to experience as a result of those thoughts emit and project an outgoing vibrational frequency that attracts to it self energies of a harmonious vibrational frequency.
So anyone, who wants to use mind powers fully, should not entertain negative emotions or feelings constantly. Because they not only drain the powers of mind and create more situations to create more such negative emotions or feelings by unintentionally programming subconscious mind negatively.

Visualization is the way

Learn Mind’s Secrets – 5
Visualization is the way
Though we are not consciously aware of it, we live in an immense quantum sea of vibrating energy that is ever responsive to how and what we think. Our thoughts are forever trying to express themselves in our lives. Our thoughts are creative forces, and the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can begin designing our lives with clarity and purpose. As already explained what we focus on, we attract. Visualization is a very valuable technique that helps us to focus, attract and actualize our wishes.
Visualization is simply mental rehearsal. We create images in our minds of our having or doing whatever it is we want. In our mind we are constantly running a mental movie of what we wish to achieve. We repeat these images over and over again.
Visualization, where one mentally rehearses the ideal performance in his mind over and over before the actual event, should be a tool in the success arsenal of every peak performer. In 1954, Roger Bannister did what many people thought no human could ever do. He broke the four minute-a mile barrier. When asked how he did this, he replied that he simply ran the perfect race over and over on the movie screen of his mind before he ran it in reality. Tennis ace Andre Agassi is a master at the art of visualization as is golf legend Jack Nicklaus, soccer superstar Pele and Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner.
“It’s all in the mind,” says Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is five-time winner of the Mr. Universe title, a successful real estate tycoon, movie star, and governor of California. “The mind is really so incredible. Before I won my first Mr. Universe title, I walked around the tournament like I owned it. I had won it so many times in my mind, the title was already mine. Then when I moved on to the movies I used the same technique. I visualized daily being a successful actor and earning big money.”
What worked for Arnold Schwarzenegger, Andre Agassi and other legends will work for every one of us. It’s not magic and it doesn’t happen overnight, but if we persist in our vision, we will achieve it.
Carl Simonton, a radiological oncologist, who used relaxation techniques and mental imagery to augment the chemotherapy, radiation, the regular medical treatment that people were receiving. A typical example of some of the imagery, for instance -- one woman with lung cancer would imagine herself going into her lung with a vacuum cleaner and vacuuming away the diseased tissue, and then coming in with a medicated spray. A fourteen-year-old boy with terminal leukemia went into his bloodstream dressed like the Lone Ranger, all in white, and every time he saw a leukocyte he'd pull out his six shooters and kill the leukocyte and haul away the dead leukocytes. He applied this technique of mental imagery or visualization with terminal patients. After five years, twenty-six percent of his patients were still alive.
How did these miracles happen? Here is an important truth we must understand. The subconscious mind cannot distinguish between what is real and what is imagined. Our subconscious will act upon the images we create within, regardless of whether those images reflect our current reality or not. If our subconscious mind sees us doing something successfully, then it retains a positive memory and will in turn give us ideas on how to make that happen.
Now let us see how to practice visualization in simple terms. The first step is just to relax our body, relax our mind, and let ourselves drop into a quieter, deeper level of consciousness, which puts us more in touch with our intuitive or creative self. Meditation techniques will help us excellently to go to our deeper consciousness. After that, the basic technique of visualization is to create an experience within ourselves of whatever it is that we want. That can be an external thing or an internal thing. In other words, we could visualize or imagine ourselves in our new house, or our new job. Or we could simply visualize or imagine ourselves feeling self confident, or feeling very creative, or learning how to express our feelings more directly, or anything that's important to us.
We should make the picture clear and beautiful. We should not be afraid. We must make it grand. We should remember that no limitation can be placed upon us. We are not limited as to anything. We should construct it in our imagination as imagination is what fuels the power of visualization. Clearness and accuracy are obtained only by repeatedly having the image in mind. Each repeated action renders the image more clear and accurate than the preceding, and in proportion to the clearness and accuracy of the image will the outward manifestation be. It will have to be clearly in our mind clearly before it will ever appear anywhere else. We must hold it firmly in the mind and we will gradually and constantly bring the thing nearer to us.
The key to remember when visualizing is to always visualize that we already have the thing we want. This is a mental trick. We don’t hope that we will achieve it, or build confidence that some day it will happen. No, with the visualization technique we “live and feel it” as if it is happening to us now.
When we start to visualize, we simply open up our own horizons, so that we start to notice opportunities that we wouldn't even have thought of before, and we seem to create an open energy field that starts to bring things in to us.

Concentration is Power
Learn Mind’s Secrets – 4
Concentration is Power
Scientific research in the metaphysical field has demonstrated the fact that man can influence his sub-conscious mind to his advantage by right thinking. He can bring into his experience the things he wished to enjoy if he thought correctly. Man becomes what he thinks, and what he thinks in the present, determines what he is to become in the future; and also that since he can change his thought for the better along any line, he can therefore completely change himself along any line.
When we want anything, we must enter into the very soul of that thought and be thoroughly in earnest. Every desire should be deeply felt as all deeply felt mental actions become subconscious actions. It is an excellent practice to let every desire sink into the deeper mental life. Only then we awake the finer creative energies of mind, those forces that build talent, ability and genius - those forces that make man great. We must be determined to do what we think we can do, This determination must be invincible, and must be animated with that depth of feeling that arouses all the powers of being into positive and united action. The power will thus be placed at our command to make our dream a reality.
To become proficient in these methods requires the power of concentration. This power can be described as focused attention. It is the ability to direct the attention to one single thought or subject, to the exclusion of everything else. When our mind is focused, our energies are not dissipated on irrelevant activities or thoughts. This is why developing concentration is essential to anyone who aspires to take charge of his or her life. This skill is essential for every kind of success. Without it, our efforts get scattered, but with it, we can accomplish great things.
The cultivation of attention is the distinguishing characteristic of every successful man. The power of attention can be more readily understood by comparing it with a magnifying glass in which the rays of sunlight are focused. They possess no particular strength as long as the glass is moved about and the rays directed from one place to another. But let the glass be held perfectly still and let the rays be focused on one spot for any length of time, the effect will become immediately apparent. So is the power of thought. If we let power be dissipated by scattering the thought from one object to another, no result is apparent. But if we focus this power through attention or concentration on any single purpose for any length of time, nothing becomes impossible.
The purpose of concentration is to apply all the active forces of mind and personality upon that one thing which is being done now, and it may therefore be called the master key to all attainments and achievement. In its last analysis, the cause of all failure can be traced to the scattering of forces, and the cause of all achievement to the concentration of forces. So whenever you are thinking about anything, try to feel your thought getting into the vital life of that something, and wherever you turn your attention, try to feel that the force of that attention acts through your whole mind instead of simply on the surface of your mind. Whatever you have to do, deepen your thought, and the deeper your thought becomes, the more perfectly will the full force of your mind and thought focus upon the point of concentration.
To develop the power of concentration we must practice the shutting out of all distracting thoughts and impressions from our minds. The most important part is to focus positively on one-thing-at-a-time and to avoid thinking of other things that may distract or divert you. When the mind is peaceful and clear, you naturally address issues one at a time. If you limit yourself to doing or only thinking about one thing at a time - you will find that the mind, in turn - gradually develops clarity and with this increased concentration and will power.
Mainly you should become interested in that upon which you desire to concentrate. If you are not interested in that subject or object, begin at once to look for the most interesting point of view. You will be surprised to find that no matter how uninteresting a subject may seem, the very moment you begin to look for the most interesting viewpoints of that subject, you will almost immediately become interested in that subject itself. And it is a well-known fact that whenever we are thoroughly interested in a subject we concentrate thoroughly and naturally upon that subject.
Always look for the most interesting points of view, and while you are looking for those viewpoints, deepen the action of your mind by trying to feel the real vital life of those actions. You thereby become interested in the subject on the one hand, and you make every action of the mind subjective on the other hand; and when perfect interest is combined with subjective mental action, you have perfect concentration.
Concentration has many uses and benefits. It assists in studying and understanding faster, improves the memory, and helps in focusing on any task, job, activity or goal, and achieving it more easily and efficiently. This ability also plays an important role in meditation. Without it, the mind just jumps restlessly from one thought to another, not allowing us to meditate properly. When this ability is developed, the mind obeys us more readily and does not engage in futile, negative thoughts or worries. We gain mental mastery and we experience true peace of mind. It is also required for developing psychic powers, and is a powerful tool for the efficient use of creative visualization.

Key to the Treasure House

Learn Mind’s Secrets – 3
Key to the Treasure House
We have seen that the mind is a great treasure house and sub conscious mind is the door to the treasure house. Do you know the key to the door? The key is deep and strong thoughts.
There are many ordinary impressions and experiences that enter our consciousness are not accompanied with depth of feeling. We may be conscious of such experiences or impressions, but we are not affected by them. For this reason we need not give them our attention, which is well because the majority of the impressions that enter the conscious mind pass off, so to speak, without affecting life in any way.
But whatever enters the consciousness of man and deeply felt will enter into sub conscious mind. Then it is taken up by the creative energies and slowly begins to express itself in the personality of man. So we become like the thoughts we think deeply because the creative power of thought is the only creative power that we have within us. And the energies of mind are constantly creating. So there can be no greater art than the art of correct thinking. Every thought is a cause and every condition an effect. So it is absolutely necessary that you control your thoughts so as to bring forth only desirable conditions.
Everything has a tendency to grow and increase in the subconscious. Whenever an impression or desire is placed in the subconscious, it has a tendency to become larger and therefore the bad becomes worse when it enters the subconscious, while the good becomes better. We have the power, however, to exclude the bad from the subconscious and cause only the good to enter that immense field. So do not permit any idea, suggestion or expectation to enter the subconscious unless it is something that you actually want developed or worked out, and here we should remember that every idea, desire or state of mind that is deeply felt will enter the subconscious.
James Allen says in “As a man thinketh” “Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast.”
“Just as a gardener cultivates his plot, keeping it free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which he requires, so may a man tend the garden of his mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts, By pursuing this process, a man sooner or later discovers that he is the master gardener of his soul, the director of his life. He also reveals, within himself, the laws of thought, and understands with ever-increasing accuracy, how the thought forces and mind elements operate in the shaping of his character, circumstances, and destiny.”
Buddha said, "What we are today comes from thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: our life is the creation of our mind."
So make it a point to give continuous directions to the subconscious every day for the steady improvement of mind, character and personality along all lines. You cannot give the subconscious too much to do because its power is immense, and its capacity limitless. Permit no thinking to be aimless. Every aimless thought is time and energy wasted, while every thought that is inspired with a definite aim will help to realize that aim, and if all your thoughts are inspired with a definite aim, the whole power of your mind will be for you and will work with you in realizing what you have aimed.
When there are no results, do not lose faith. Continue to give your thought a deeper life and a more persistent desire. Always be prepared to give these methods sufficient time. Some have remarkable results at once, while others take long time. Be determined in every effort you may make in this direction, but do not be impatient or over anxious.

Door to the Treasure House
Learn Mind’s Secrets 2
Door to the Treasure House
According to the scientists the universe is alive, and has mind and Mind-Power in every part and particle of itself. Flammarion says: "Mind gleams in every atom. There is mind in everything, not only in human and animal life, but in plants, in minerals in space!"
Miracle is performed every second by plants absorbing the minerals of the earth, which are then converted into living plant-cells; then we eat the plants and convert the plant-cells into animal-cells which serve as the basis of our blood, muscles, organs, and even our brains. In fact, every particle of organic substance was evolved in this way. When we think over this we can easily come to the conclusion that Nature is one in her essence, and that she is alive and possesses Mind-Power.
Cope says: "The basis of life and mind lies back of the atoms, and may be found in the universal ether." Dolbear says: "Possibly the ether may be the medium through which mind and matter react. Out of the ether could emerge, under proper circumstances, other phenomena, such as life, or mind, or whatever may be in the substratum." So the scientists also come to the inevitable conclusion that there must be Mind-Power even in the ether.
We can receive from the deeper life and all pervading Mind Power only that which we recognize, because consciousness is the power between the outer life and the great within. We open the door only to those things of which we become conscious. The principal reason for the average person’s non possession of greater powers and talents is that he is not conscious of more.
The human mind can be split into two different entities. One is the conscious mind and the other is the subconscious or unconscious mind. The conscious mind predominately deals with analytical problems on a day to day basis. It responds to information it receives by processing it and categorizing it according to its view of life.
The subconscious mind is far bigger and does not have analytical factor as such. It is the subconscious mind that keeps your heart beating and gets you to fill your lungs with air without you having to make any conscious effort to do it. If you reach out for a cup of coffee your conscious mind makes the decision to do so but it is the sub-conscious mind that gives necessary instructions to all the muscles involved to bring the cup up to your lips.
The subconscious mind is an incredibly complex kind of computer with a huge memory bank. Basically everything you do or have done in your life is stored there. The memory of every sound you have heard, everything you may have smelled, tasted, or touched. Your brain retains all this information and it is never forgotten unless you suffer some form of brain damage.
All creativity is found in the subconscious mind. It is where the great artists, composers, scientists, and inventors draw on their inspiration. Many great men have said that they carried out some of their greatest works while in a kind of trance state or day dream. Mozart, one of the most intuitive composers in history, claimed his compositions were formed in his mind like dreams independent of his will. In fact the list can go on and on Isaac Newton, Ramanujam, Goethe, Einstein etc.
Your subconscious mind is like a guided missile except it will always hit the target it is programmed for. This is why you should make it the servant and not the master of your destiny. The subconscious mind is not meant to reason but to react to the instructions you give it. It is actually meant to serve you! And it is the door to the great treasure house. It is through this door we are connected with the Universal Mind or God Mind and brought into relation with the Infinite constructive forces of the Universe.

The Treasure House

LEARN MIND’S SECRETS 1
The Treasure House
Once there was a discussion among the gods as to where the miraculous secret power that could grant everything desired by man was to kept hidden. One of the Gods suggested that it could be buried in the depths of the ocean. Another suggested that it could be kept hidden on the top of the highest mountain. One suggested a cave in the deep forest was the ideal place to hide it. One of the most intelligent gods said,”Let us put it in the depths of man’s mind. He will never suspect that the great power is hidden there”. All the gods agreed to the suggestion and the great treasure was kept there. Hence, in the human mind lies the hidden great miraculous power.
Man cannot easily believe that there is so much energy stored within. He asks “How can such energy be kept inside my mind?” His ignorance and his doubt create inferiority complex which he cannot shake off. Yet he believes science when it tells him that tremendous energy is stored in a small particle of matter. Science tells that the amount of energy that will be released if a tiny portion of any matter, weighing just one gram, is converted in to energy is about 30.3 million horse power. (Albert Einstein discovered the formula that describes the proportion between the mass of matter and energy that is potential in it as E=mc2).
Russian scientists Bernard B Keginski and Dr.Pavel Neumov said, ”The mind is not just an inert matter. Just as there there are precious stones in the depths of the sea, there is a store of abundant energy in the depths of our mind. However this energy is beyond the perception of our ordinary senses, that’s all”. It is true.
The principal reason why the average person remains weak and incompetent is found in the fact that he makes no effort to realize the depths of his real being. He wrongly believes that what exists on the surface is all there is of man. So he does not place himself in touch with the live wire of his great and inexhaustible nature within. He does not exercise his greatest power the power to discern what his whole nature may contain, and therefore does not unlock the door to any of his other powers. And the reason why greatness is the rare exception instead of the universal rule can be traced to the same cause.
Man tries to use the resources on the surface, but is unconscious of the fact that enormous powers are in existence in the greater depth of his mind. These powers are dormant simply because they have not been called into action, and they will continue to lie dormant until man develops his greatest power; that is, the power to discern what really exists within him.
When the mind discovers that its powers are inexhaustible and that its faculties and talents can be developed to the very highest degree imaginable, and to any degree beyond that, the fear of failure will entirely disappear. He will come to the conclusion that man may attain anything or achieve anything, provided, of course, he works within the natural sphere of universal law. Whatever circumstances may be today such a mind will know that all can be changed; that this condition can be made to pass away, and that the vacancy may be filled with the heart's most cherished desire.
